The Rough Rider Sowbelly Trapper in White Micarta sets a satin-finished stainless clip blade with a spey blade on the distinctive sowbelly handle shape, shaped around a clean white Micarta handle.
The sowbelly’s curved silhouette, bulging outward in the middle, gives the handle a more substantial feel in the palm than a straight-sided pattern, filling the hand in a way many traditional collectors specifically seek out. The clip blade takes the everyday jobs, while the spey blade’s flatter edge and rounded tip is purpose-built for detail work and skinning tasks a pointed blade handles less cleanly. White Micarta, a resin-impregnated fabric laminate, brings a clean, bright look distinct from the bone and wood handles found on most traditional patterns.
Each blade opens on a nail nick, the traditional way, backed by a slip joint, its spring tension standing in for a mechanical locking bar. Rough Rider’s sowbelly pattern gives collectors a distinctive handle shape in a modern material. White Micarta remains an uncommon handle material choice within Rough Rider’s broader sowbelly lineup.
